There's another new face in the School District 43 (SD43) board office, with the appointment of a new assistant superintendent.
Nadine Tambellini, district principal of human resources, is replacing Reno Ciolfi, who is retiring.
In an announcement last Friday (Jan. 6), SD43 said Tambellini is described as a "strong leader" who will be "successful in her new role."
Tambellini joined the district in 1989 and has served the district in a number of different posts, including principal of Hillcrest Middle, principal of Central Elementary, and vice-principal of Glen Elementary.
Her SD43 teaching career began at Vanier Elementary with eventual moves to Nestor Elementary, Kwayhquitlum and Summit middle schools.
"Ms. Tambellini is a strong leader and is very much looking forward to joining the District Leadership Team," the announcement states.
"She believes everyone has unlimited ability when encouraged and supported to develop their full potential and that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to supporting employees or students."
In her job with human resources, Tambellini supervised all district staffing, including teacher recruitment.
Tambellini begins her new job on Feb. 1, 2023.
SD43 has also recently announced a temporary replacement for the position of secretary treasurer in time for a new year and upcoming budget discussions.
Randy Manhas, who is currently executive director of human resources, has been appointed to the job for the interim.
He replaces Mohammed Azim, the former secretary treasurer and chief financial officer, who has left the district according to the announcement.
