A New Westminster man is facing charges after allegedly robbing and slashing a youth at a Coquitlam house party earlier this month.
Kyle Alain-Boya was taken into custody on September 10, eight days after the incident, is facing charges of robbery, assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm.
The victim, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released after medical treatment.
"A team of investigators consisting of uniformed officers, robbery and fraud section members immediately worked on the investigation," said Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung. "In addition to great team work and good old fashion investigative techniques, the investigators also found social media to be a valuable tool in identifying the suspect. This allowed us to locate him and bring him to justice."
Alain-Boya has been held in custody since his arrest but was expected to make a court appearance on September 24.
