The Coquitlam Express moved into fourth place in the BC Hockey League’s Coastal Conference after a 5-2 win over the Langley Rivermen, Tuesday afternoon in Langley.
The result vaulted the Express past the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Coquitlam has 46 points in 37 games while the Capitals have 45.
The Express is only two points behind third-place Victoria Grizzlies, which has played one less game.
Mason Kesserling scored twice for Coquitlam and added an assist in Tuesday’s victory, that was played before a packed house of school kids at the George Preston Arena.

Thomas Zocco had a goal and an assist.
After Langley and the Express exchanged goals in the first period, James Shannon’s power play goal gave the visitors the lead 3:11 into the second period.
Kesserling’s first goal of the game 7:29 into the third period put the visitors ahead by two.
But the advantage lasted just 21 seconds when Greye Rempton scored for the Rivermen.
Kesserling’s second goal of the game into an empty net, and another empty net goal by Joseph Odyniec seal Coquitlam’s 21st win of the season and sixth in its past seven games.
Andrew Ness stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced in the Express net, while his teammates fired 32 shots at Langley goaltender Dylan Johnson.
The Express heads north for two games against the Prince George Spruce Kings Feb. 7 and 8. The team's next home game is Feb. 17, when the Surrey Eagles visit the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex for a special Family Day matinee at noon.
