Tri-City residents are checking out the historical livestock barns at the PNE Fair, a two-week event in Vancouver that ends on Labour Day, Sept. 2.

A fixture since 1910, the PNE farm allows guests to get up close to a range of animals, as well as take part in interactive educational exhibits and connect with agricultural producers and partners.

These include:

  • BC Dairy Association
  • BC Cattlemen’s Association
  • BC Egg Marketing Board
  • BC Chicken Marketing Board

This year, the Kidz Discovery Farm has a new location outside of the barns to get kids to be a "farmer for an hour." To get there, head over to the site on the West Line.

And don't forget to see the new SuperDogs show: A Night at the Pawcars. Presented by Hollywoof, the contest in the Agrodome runs daily at 1, 3, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

On Aug. 27, 28 and 29, entry to the PNE is 50 per cent off for two fair gate passes; tickets must be bought in multiples of two and of the same type (the offer is for a maximum of six tickets per ticket type). For online tickets, visit the PNE website.

The PNE Fair is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. until Monday, Sept. 2.
