The Tri-Cities' newest Liberal MLA will hit the ground running after winning her Port Moody-Coquitlam seat.

Reimer is expected to draw on her experience in municipal government to hold the post of parliamentary secretary to the minister of community, sport and cultural development for communities. Her job will be to work with communities to build strong partnerships across the province.

Also this week, Reimer was appointed to the Secure Tomorrow Cabinet Committee, chaired by Health Minister Terry Lake.

Reimer has taken a leave of absence from Coquitlam council, as has Selina Robinson, the newly elected NDP MLA for Coquitlam-Maillardville.
