A Port Coquitlam man is $1-million richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 draw on the second to last day of 2023.
Francisc Menyhart said he’s still in shock after checking his ticket at the Shell gas station on Pitt River Road in PoCo.
“The attendant had to come around and show me how much I won,” he said in a news release issued today, Jan. 10, by the BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC).
Menyhart said he shared the news with his daughter about the Dec. 30, 2023, win and “she was shocked as well.”
He said he’ll take some time to decide what to do with the windfall; however, he plans to leave some money for his kids.
Menyhart bought his winning ticket at Pharmachoice on Shaughnessy Street in PoCo.
Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game that’s drawn on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
