Shoppers seeking fresh, local food and handmade goods can head to Port Coquitlam this week.
The Port Coquitlam Farmers Market is back for its 16th season on Thursday (June 1) at the Terry Fox Hometown Square on Kelly Avenue at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.).
The popular outdoor market will open Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. offering a variety of locally grown and produced vegetables, fruit and baking, along with artisan-made goods straight from the farm and workshop to your shopping bag.
The PoCo market runs from June 1–Sept. 28.
Opening day cupcakes
This week’s opening market will have special guests and cupcakes.
Mayor Brad West and council will be on site at 4 p.m. for the opening day celebration with cupcakes and entertainment.
The Port Coquitlam Farmers Market is a weekly, fun-filled event providing direct contact with local farmers and food producers. Enjoy exciting monthly themes, events and live entertainment for the whole family.
Underground parking is available for customers at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre.
30 vendors
The Port Coquitlam Farmers Market will operate every Thursday until Sept. 28, with more than 30 vendors who sell a wide range of local products, including produce, meats, baked goods and crafts.
Of note, many popular vendors are returning this year.
