A Port Coquitlam company is being recognized as the top environmental consulting services provider in Canada.
HSR Zero Waste received the award from industry publication, Environmental Business Review.
HSR provides waste management solutions to help businesses, municipalities and individuals minimize their environmental impact and achieve their sustainability goals.
Last October, the company launched a new zero waste certification program for the construction industry that can be applied to individual projects. It includes an analysis of its demolition, renovation and construction activities, documentation resources and a formal review.
Earlier in 2024, HSR president Jamie Kaminski, spoke at a major international conference in San Francisco about how businesses can implement zero waste methods, like diverting recyclables from landfills, into their operations.
“Our mission is to transform waste management into a competitive edge for our clients,” Kaminski said about the award in a news release.
“This award is not just ours — it belongs to everyone striving for a more sustainable world,” he added.
HSR was founded in 1988 as Happy Stan’s Recycling Services and launched its consulting division in 2017.
