The city of Port Moody has released its staff salary disclosures for 2010, with two of last year's top-paying jobs now up for grabs.

Mayor Joe Trasolini's 2010 salary increased slightly from his 2009 compensation of $69,114 to $70,246, including $23,643 in tax-free allowance. The mayor also claimed $6,274 in expenses last year.

City council's 2010 salaries remained on par with the previous year, with each councillor paid $24,108, including an $8,036 tax-free allowance.

Coun. Diana Dilworth ran up the highest expense account of any city councillor last year with $5,649 claimed, while councillors Meghan Lahti, Gerry Nuttall and Karen Rockwell wrote up no extra expenses for taxpayers in 2010.

Approximately one-third of Port Moody's 72 city staffers, including fire department brass, saw earnings north of the $100,000 mark last year, with the five top-earning city staff all posting incomes over $130,000 not including expenses.

Chief among those was city manager Gaetan Royer whose 2010 salary was $161,807 plus $9,420 in claimed expenses. Royer will leave the city manager's post in the coming weeks for a new job at Metro Vancouver.

The number two salary of 2010 was that of development services director Tim Savoie at $133,736 with $3,745 claimed in expenses.

Running a close third for highest-grossing taxpayer-supported employee in 2010 was fire chief Jeff Lambert with an annual salary of $133,525 and expenses totalling $3,262. Lambert resigned as fire chief in May, leaving that position likely to be taken over by one of Port Moody's two deputy fire chiefs currently sharing the role of chief.

Corporate services director Paul Rockwood earned $133,360 in pay, $4,399 in expenses and the title of fourth-highest paid Port Moody city employee in 2010.

And Ron Higo, Port Moody's director of community services pulled down the fifth-highest wage in 2010 at $131,309 plus $2,515 in expenses.

All together, city staff and council were paid $16.73 million in salaries, allowances and expenses in 2010.
