Coquitlam RCMP are searching for a suspect who held up the Subway on Clarke Road Wednesday evening.

The clerk on duty at 9:30 p.m. said the man used a gun to demand the money and fled with up to $300, according to Const. Michelle Luca, who added investigators are looking for links with other robberies.

The incident happened near Como Lake Avenue, some distance away from the robberies that have been plaguing Austin Heights recently. Over the past month there have been a rash of thefts in that neighbourhood; police haven't confirmed the exact number of stores that have been robbed.

The suspect linked to at least three of those is described as a Caucasian man between 20 and 24 years old with dark brown hair who is 6' to 6'2" tall and weighs about 190 to 215 lbs. In each of the robberies he was seen wearing a black hoodie, balaclava and gloves.

The Subway suspect was said to be wearing a white cloth over his face and black track pants.
