Three-year-old Esme of Coquitlam enjoyed a sneak peek at the new Queenston Park playground Wednesday.
The 1.38-acre neighbourhood park, which officially opens Saturday at 10:15 a.m., is located at 3415 Queenston Ave., just north of Coast Meridian Road and David Avenue.
The $1-million hillside grounds include a rubberized surface on the playground thanks to a $30,000 grant from Tire Stewardship BC and a sports court.
Parking is limited around the park so visitors are asked to walk or take transit to Saturday's grand opening celebration, which is targeted at people who live in the neighbourhood.
