Monday's, Nov. 4, windstorm rushed through west Coquitlam, causing power outages and trees to timber in local neighbourhoods.
A large one was uprooted and fell down near the intersection of Robinson Street and Como Lake Avenue in Burquitlam.
This blocked southbound lanes along Robinson for several hours while crews worked as fast as they could to remove the tree.
Meanwhile, another tree fell down into the back of a Vanessa Court home, as well as the shed and fence.
No injuries were reported, a witness told the Tri-City News.
BC Hydro restored electricity to Burquitlam Monday afternoon after trees fell down on wires that left customers in the area, as well as nearby Burnaby and New Westminster, without power for four hours.
Nearly 3,400 households, businesses and facilities went in the dark after 12:30 p.m. with power turning back on around 4:30 p.m.
This includes areas south of Como Lake Avenue, west of Schoolhouse Street, north of Capilano Way and east of Cariboo Road.
More than 250,000 BC Hydro customers lost power during the vigorous windstorm on Monday.
Environment Canada issued a wind warning calling for very strong northwest winds from 11 a.m. until the evening, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
