Readers of a certain age might remember names like Skinny Minnie Miller and Paul "The Bear" Rupert.
And while those icons of roller derby are long gone, the spirit of the LA T-birds and San Fransisco Bay Bombers lives on in Terminal City Roller Derby, part of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association.
Terminal City is based at the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster. But when the ice is in at the curling rink, the matches move to the Poirier Forum in Coquitlam.
A doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 26 featured the Asp Kickers vs. South Sound, followed by Bumblebeast vs. Greater Vancouver Roller Derby.
