"Snow-Covered Seed Heads" by Evelyn Nodwell is one of the images featured in Photomotion 2022 in Port Moody.

After two years of digital-only shows, Photomotion is back in business.

The Pacific Digital Photography Club (PDPC) is returning to Port Moody to highlight its members' best images of the year — picked by a panel of judges from the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA).

Participating members have up to four minutes worth of pictures in each of the two live slide/sound shows, scheduled for Nov. 12 at the Inlet Theatre inside Port Moody city hall (100 Newport Dr.):

  • Matinee: 2 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Evening: 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The pictures will be beamed from a 10,000 lumens projector — in full high definition — on a 20-foot screen, with a six-channel Dolby surround sound.

Pitt Meadows photographer and world traveller Kayla Stevenson, originally from Kalamazoo, Mich., is also scheduled to make a special guest appearance.

The CAPA board member is set to talk and feature images from her African adventures.

Photomotion in 2018 and 2019 sold out, but the next two years went online to comply with the COVID-19 restrictions.

However, the results were overwhelming for the club, with more than 2,000 views from shutterbugs in 35 countries.

Attendees to Photomotion 2022 also are eligible to win more than $3,000 worth in door prizes.

For more information and to purchase tickets, $18 each, you can visit the PDPC's website, call 604-929-7860 or email the club directly: [email protected].
