These are some of the silent auction prizes up for grabs in this year’s Imagine gala, a fundraiser for Share Family and Community Services — a social services agency that serves Tri-City residents in times of need.
Monday, its online auction went live and, as of Friday morning, it had already generated more than $7,100 through bids via shareimagine.ca.
The non-profit organization hopes to bring in at least $125,000 from the silent auction (which closes March 7 at 10:15 p.m.) as well as from its 15th annual gala at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, also next Saturday, for its programs.
Called Paint the Town and sponsored in part by The Tri-City News, the gala is a catered competition between eight eateries, with guests sampling the nosh and picking their favourites — and dancing to the tunes from the high-energy band Famous Players.
Ticket-holders can also have their faces painted, take part in “colourful” games and have a chance to win a $2,000 gift card from Flight Centre and a golf/stay package for four people at Predator Ridge Golf Resort, in a raffle.
There will also be a 50/50 draw and a live auction.
Meanwhile, Port Moody’s Al Murdoch, the Vancouver Canucks' in-game PA announcer, is back as the gala MC.
Share’s Paint the Town will be held March 7 at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver theatre (2080 United Blvd., Coquitlam). For general seating tickets ($99) visit sharesociety.ca/imagine. Event tickets are not available at the door.
