Is there anything that screams cute like painting with your dog?
(Not a typo, "with" your dog.)
Back by popular demand, Coquitlam's Place des Arts is set to host an outdoor painting class this month that'll welcome interested pet owners and their four-legged friends to create a masterpiece.
It's set to act as the 2022-23 season kick-off for Place des Arts' parties earmarked for those aged 19 and older. It's also the local organization's 50th anniversary as a community mainstay for music, dance, theatre, and visual and literary arts.
Known as PAWcasso, dogs will first paint with their paws using non-toxic material.
Then, their owners will finish up the canvas with a blend of brush strokes to create a "one-of-a-kind and personalized asbtract artwork," Place des Arts' event description reads.
Dogs will be rewarded for their efforts with treats, while humans in attendance will be treated to drinks at a cash bar that includes mimosas, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
While the two-hour painting adventure is outdoors, Place des Arts says a plan will be in place to go ahead if it rains.
Entry is one dog per person, they must be leashed at all times (no retractable leashes) and they must also be up to date with vaccinations.
Tickets start at $26 per person or two of $42.
Place des Arts' PAWcasso is scheduled for Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the garden at 1120 Brunette Ave.
