The season of giving is upon us, and one Tri-Cities non-profit is hoping the community can do its part for those in end-of-life care.
After a two-year hiatus, the Crossroads Hospice Society's Treasures of Christmas gala is making a much-anticipated return in-person to Coquitlam this month.
On its website, the organization calls the event its "signature fundraising event" each year as it gives local residents the chance to see their donations' "meaningful impact" on patients, clients and loved ones.
Crossroads has planned a cocktail reception, surrounded by a sea of sponsored trees, with patient testimonies and entertainment, and an online auction with prizes, as well as a 50/50 raffle draw.
And, it's looking build on the money it has raised in the 28 years since the campaign's inception.
"This year, the event will be a cocktail reception (rather than a sit-down dinner) but there will still be plenty of delicious drinks and hors d’oeuvres, heartwarming Crossroads stories, an extensive online auction, raffles and more," said Janice Boyle, executive director of the Crossroads Hospice Society, in a statement to the Tri-City News.
"Help Crossroads Hospice Society raise much needed funds for the compassionate, quality hospice care and grief support Crossroads Hospice Society provides for our community," the society's profile adds.
As of this publication (Nov. 1), the 50/50 jackpot is sitting at nearly $16,500.
The deadline to purchase a ticket is the night of the gala fundraiser — Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Executive Plaza Hotel.
Treasures of Christmas tickets will be up for sale on Friday (Nov. 4) — at $85 for early-bird buyers and $95 for later birds — which is the same day interested attendees can view the online auction prizes.
