Go read some comics!

Whether you're into Marvel, DC or Archies, those are words to live by for anyone wanting to escape everyday life or even pass down their childhood passions to the next generation.

Free Comic Book Day, an international celebration of storytelling through picture novels, is set for tomorrow (May 6) and a pair of Tri-Cities facilities will be stocking its shelves for local readers.

The Coquitlam and Port Moody public libraries will be giving away free comics for residents of all ages, including kids, teens and adults.

An inventory of artists, writers and series will be available while supplies last.

Each library is also limiting the number of free comic books per visitor: one at Coquitlam and three at Port Moody.

Comics will be at both of Coquitlam's branches — City Centre and Poirier Street — and in the fireside reading room at Port Moody's building (100 Newport Dr.).

For more information, including operating hours, you can visit the Coquitlam or Port Moody public library websites.
