Life's short. Eat more cookies.

A great philosophy to live by, especially this week when you can buy all the cookies you want at a iconic Canadian restaurant chain and donate to a local cause.

From now until end of day Sunday (May 7), Tim Hortons is hosting its 27th annual Smile Cookie campaign at 10 locations across the Tri-Cities — Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam — and raising funds for two Lower Mainland non profits.

Nine of them are collecting funds for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, while one other is set to donate its total to the Food Banks of Canada.

According to Tim Hortons, 100 per cent of proceeds from Smile Cookie sales are going directly to the charities. In 2022, more than $15 million was raised nation-wide for more than 600 community groups.

Cookies are $1.50 each plus tax for the 2023 initiative, marking the first time the price has gone up.

"This increase will allow even more money to be raised for charities and community groups across the country," Tim Hortons' website reads.

As for the sweet treats themselves, Tim Hortons uses its chocolate chunk cookies and decorates each one by hand — blue icing for the eyes and pink for the smile.

They're being sold at the following Tri-Cities locations, according to the company's Smile Cookie map (in no particular order):
