Coquitlam's payout this past quarter as host to the Boulevard Casino meant another $1.69 million for municipal coffers.
The money, which came last week from the provincial government, is for April to June and is about $100,000 less than the first quarter.
The city gets a 10% cut of net proceeds from the gaming venue on United Boulevard, which is rebranding itself later this year as Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.
Since the gambling facility opened in 2002, Coquitlam has collected around $90 million, money that is spent on major capital programs and projects for non-profit groups.
Since the Spirit of Coquitlam grants started in 2002, the city has handed out more than $6.2 million.
Among the projects that got casino funding last year were for Blue Mountain Park playground equipment (Coquitlam Rotary Club Foundation Society, $97,500); exhibit units (Coquitlam Public Library, $55,689); dance festivals (Vancouver Korean Dance Society, $5,000); and sports fairs (Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame, $5,000).
The deadline to submit applications for a Spirit of Coquitlam grant is Monday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
