A body of a missing woman has been found and her estranged husband has been charged with first-degree murder.
CTV reported that police said Sunday the body of Yating (Lancy) Hu was found in a suitcase in the Fraser River. Boaters discovered the suitcase on Aug. 27 near Steveston.
Hu was last seen leaving her Coquitlam home on July 16 but wasn't reported missing by her husband for two days.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said an autopsy has confirmed the remains inside were Hu's, and that she was met with foul play, CTV reported.
Zhongming (James) Mou, 35, has been charged with murder. He remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Port Coquitlam provincial court Monday morning.
