A pair of Coquitlam men Vancouver Police Department has called persons of interest remain in Eagle Ridge Hospital suffering from burns to their upper body, arms, hands, head and face. VPD is investigating a Monday afternoon incident in which a white panel van reported to be on fire rear-ended a sports utility vehicle as they headed south on Oak Street. The van climbed the curb and smashed into a cement retaining wall. The two men in the van fled. As firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, several explosions occurred, which according to VPD, "appear to be the result of the van illegally containing large containers and quantities of gasoline." Two men, ages 19 and 25, walked into Eagle Ridge Hospital yesterday and are in serious condition. Police are still investigating and and are trying to determine who owned the van. No charges have been laid yet.
