Thousands of Coquitlam residents were without power Monday morning, mainly due to an equipment failure.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the lights went out for about 3,000 BC Hydro customers from River Heights up to Eagle Ridge. Later in the day, another 39 customers were affected in the 2900-block of Lougheed Highway, near Pinetree Way.

Also on Monday afternoon a tree came down across some power lines, cutting off power for some 134 customers on Rochester Avenue, near Lougheed, for a few hours.

Power was restored to all the outages by 3 p.m.
