The Editor:
In 1990, I co-founded the Super Series, an annual best-of-seven street hockey series for Tri-City teens.
It all started in the Hazel Trembath Elementary parking lot.
The participation doubled, then again, and once more.
More than 100 players joined over the decade and, while we quickly outgrew the venue, the memories remain.
I actually designed a nine-hole golf course using the whole lower grass field.
The signature tee was on the upper gravel field, with the hole down below.
I even made a scorecard, which I still have to this day.
One year at Christmas, my cousins came over and we had great fun playing tackle football in the snow.
I am sorry to hear that the school will be out of commission for awhile.
