The Editor:

On behalf of the residents and team members at Aspira Astoria, we want to express our gratitude to the City of Port Coquitlam for enhancing literacy and strengthening community ties through the Little Free Library initiative.   Recently, Aspira Astoria was honoured to be approached by the City of Port Coquitlam with the opportunity to look after the Little Free Library on the Donald Walkway. The Little Free Library Program, a collaborative effort between citizens, businesses, and community groups, aims to cultivate literacy and community development.

Aspira Astoria and its residents are now the official stewards and pledge to regularly oversee the library and maintain the surrounding area, ensuring it remains a welcoming space for all. Adding to its uniqueness, the library was crafted by a local scout striving to achieve Scouts Canada's Kings Venture Award.

It's heartening to see how a small structure filled with books can become a powerful tool for community engagement and learning. Thank you, Port Coquitlam, for always thinking of your residents first.
