Letter: Oh, how I wish Port Moody had a 'musical highway'

A "musical highway" consists of rumble strips at specific distances so that, when driven over, a musical note is created. Port Moody council shut down the proposal in 2016.

The Editor:

Some time back, in 2014, a "musical highway" was proposed for Port Moody in an effort to calm traffic as it enters the city off of the Barnet Highway.

This went to a council vote [in January 2016] and was defeated with then Couns. Rick Glumac and Zoe Royer singing the same tune — both in favour of the proposal.

Oh, how I wish we had that musical highway today.

Now, I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that if we did have that stretch of highway and if someone stopped their vehicle and drove it in reverse at the right speed, they would hear, "I buried Paul" [referencing Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles].

Now, all I've got is the CD.

Drats!
