A Port Moody restaurant with waterfront views is holding a special fundraising lunch this weekend so local families in need can have food on their plates during the holidays as well.
Staff at Float 30, located at Reed Point Marina, is donating its time and tips on Sunday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and proceeds from a limited lunch menu will go to the SHARE food bank.
The menu includes:
- ling cod and chips
- snapper and chips
- smashburger
- chicken strips
- BLT sandwich
It’s the second year the restaurant has held the fundraiser. Last year’s effort raised $4,495.
Float30 opened in 2022, in the space formerly occupied by Willy’s Galley for five years.
The restaurant has gained a loyal following since then, not only for its seafood menu but also the expansive views of Burrard Inlet and Port Moody’s north shore from its windows and covered outdoor patio.
“The location by the marina is so charming,” said an online review.
“A fabulous view of the Indian Arm,” said another, adding the location is a “hidden gem.”
SHARE’s food bank is based in Port Moody but distribution centres are also located in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.
Float30 is located at 850 Reed Point Way.
