A letter writer says local governments shouldn't get involved in lawsuits against big oil companies.

The Editor:

Re: Port Moody joins planned class action lawsuit against major oil corporations

This is a waste of taxpayers' money and municipal funds.

It’s really sad that a minority movement can hijack the system.

All of the people pictured in the article are wearing clothes and carrying phones and other items produced by oil. It’s hypocritical and people have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Our whole system has relied upon fossil fuels to make our economy run.

The hypocrisy of these people shows how little humanity has evolved.

Sure, let’s hold the fossil fuel industry to account for its failures and put environmental policies in place to make sure it’s leading-edge technology that keeps us safe from pollution and protects our environment.

Municipal governments should not use taxpayer money for their own interests.

These types of policies should be grassroots driven.
