Dear Editor,
Re: Wear green on April 7 to honour Humboldt defenceman Logan Boulet (tricitynews.com, April 6, 2025)
It's great that 90 per cent of Canadians say they support organ donation to save lives while 32 per cent have signed up.
Meanwhile, less than two per cent of Canadians give blood.
In 1969, when I started giving blood at age 17, over 3.5 per cent of Canadians gave blood.
Over 99 per cent of Canadians expect blood to be there when they or a loved one need it. (Some do not, for religious or other reasons).
On Thursday, April 10, I will give my 197th.
My wife, age 74, has also given blood regularly since retiring from 42 years teaching Grade 1.
