Letter: Coquitlam resident suggests another form of pumpkin disposal

This letter writer says why smash a pumpkin when you could eat it.

Port Moody firefighters dropped donated pumpkins from the Inlet Centre fire hall’s hose tower on Sunday, Nov. 3, to raise money for the the Port Moody Firefighters' Charitable Society.

I get how fun a pumpkin splat might be to some.

But, did you know that pumpkins are squash and squash is food? 

As long as the pumpkins are in good shape to be eaten, those could have been repurposed into food. 

Wash them off, cut off the top, remove the seeds and put the whole thing into the oven to cook as a squash.

Just a thought for future!
