Tri-City drivers can expect to see delays start to ramp up this week due to Evergreen Line construction.

The most significant area of disruption is in Port Moody at the north tunnel portal near Clarke Road, St. Johns Street and Barnet Highway.

Modifications at Charles Street to Clarke/St. Johns may bring intermittent closures of one westbound lane on Clarke between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for paving and line painting.

One southbound lane of Barnet near Clarke may be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving. There will also be single-lane alternating traffic on Clarke and View streets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drivers should also watch for crews working on View Street, where there may be single-lane closures for road construction, with minor delays expected.

And starting today (Wednesday), Clarke Street between the View/Barnet intersection to Columbia Street will be closed.

As well, on Columbia Street, delays of up to 10 minutes should be expected from Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews work on relocating the rail line.

Drivers heading further along the Evergreen Line route towards Burnaby will find that road widening and utility work on North Road has wrapped up and, even with intermittent work related to the the line still possible, no further traffic delays are expected.
