The Tri-Cities' cheapest price for gas dropped by nearly 10 cents in the last week.

And if you're holding a special red, blue and white card with a tint of gold, you'll be one of the lucky ones to fill your vehicle's tank with said fuel.

Costco in Port Coquitlam is offering $1.64 per litre as of this publication, Aug. 23 (see list below), which is a nine-cent decrease from $1.73 from last Friday, Aug. 16.

According to GasBuddy.com, that's the second lowest price for gas in all of Metro Vancouver — behind $1.63 per litre at the 64 Avenue Shell in Surrey.

But, for non-Costco cardholders, the next best price is also less than $1.70 per litre.

A price of $1.69 per litre, also the region's average, is offered at at least one gas station in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

Meanwhile, there's one outlet in B.C. that's selling fuel for less than $1.50 per litre — and it's within driving distance for local motorists.

The Petro-Canada in Mission along Lougheed Highway has posted a price of $1.49 per litre, located less than 60 km east of the Tri-Cities north of the Fraser River.

Abbotsford is also host to four stations offering $1.53 per litre.
