Environment Canada is predicting temperatures to hover around 30 C this weekend during the first hot stretch of summer in the Tri-Cities.
A special weather statement is in effect for the region with the warmer-than-normal forecast expected to last from Friday (June 24) to Tuesday (June 28).
Fortunately, most outdoor pools have opened just in time for this week's wave across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.
Today (June 22), Port Coquitlam officially opened its wading pools in Sun Valley and Routley parks to help local residents beat the incoming heat and stay active throughout the season.
