A tribute band that covers songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers will play its hometown of Port Coquitlam for the first time.
Red Hot Tribute Canada will perform on Friday, Aug. 23 at The Bennett Craft & Kitchen (2099 Lougheed Hwy.) from 8 to 11 p.m.
Made up of Alan Brown on vocals and his son, Sam, on bass, the band also features Frank Dato on drums and Carl Jackson on guitar.
Among the rock tunes they’ll play are:
- “Under the Bridge”
- “Californication”
- “Give It Away”
- “Scar Tissue”
This year, the band has entertained at the Squarerigger Pub in West Vancouver, the 14th Avenue Pub in Mission and The Haney Public House in Maple Ridge — the latter with The Negative Creeps, a Nirvana tribute act.
Tickets for the Port Coquitlam event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door on Aug. 23. You can email [email protected] for more.
