Tri-City seniors want more information about their transportation options, according to a recent survey, and to fill that knowledge gap a local service agency is holding a special forum.
The Seniors Transportation Forum: Getting You Where You Want to Go will be held at Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship on Thursday June 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Tri-Cities Seniors Planning Network is organizing the forum to help seniors connect with services and get the latest from transportation planners.
According to a survey undertaken this winter, the top three issues facing seniors in the Tri-Cities are ICBC's driver re-examinations, TransLink's incoming Compass Card system, and how to access HandyDART and Taxisavers, according to a survey of local seniors from the Tri-Cities Seniors Planning Network.
The forum will feature an expo of businesses and organizations whose work supports seniors as well as transportation planners from Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.
Topics will include the following
ICBC: "The Ins and Outs of Driver's Re-Examinations"
TransLink: "Compass Card is Coming! What You Need to Know"
HandyDART: "Accessing HandyDART & Taxisavers"
Seats for this event are limited, so the public should register online at www.tinyurl.com/TCseniorsforum or call 604-529-5116 for more information.
