Drivers in downtown Port Coquitlam will notice some disruption today (March 28) as some parking lots and city streets will be temporarily closed for filming.
Prep work started Sunday (Match 27), while shooting continues this afternoon, according to the city.
"The production has been active in Port Coquitlam for the last two weeks filming significant portions of the feature throughout the city, and are excited to include elements of the downtown in their work," stated city spokesperson Ximena Ibacache to the Tri-City News.
The film shoot is for the Disney+ film Prom Pact, which utilized Terry Fox Secondary for filming for two weeks during spring break.
Directed by Anya Adams, an award-winning Canadian–American director best known for Black-ish, Ginny & Georgia and The Good Place, the movie Prom Pact is described as a modern-day rom–com.
According to IMDB, Prom Pact follows the main character, a "feminist who doesn't believe in the idea of falling in love, especially in hetero-normative love, but then she falls and there's undeniable chemistry."
It features young actors — Peyton Elizabeth Lee and Milo Manheim — in the leading roles.
