Those colourful banners waving along Port Coquitlam’s main streets could soon be in your home or office.
This summer — on Saturdays, from July 20 to Sept. 7 — the city will sell its community banners for $5 each at The Outlet in Leigh Square (110-2248 McAllister Ave.).
Designed to beautify the municipality, the street banners showcase PoCo Pride and highlight the artistic skills of residents and photographers whose images were used.
Meanwhile, the city is looking for more photos featuring Port Coquitlam’s natural beauty during the four seasons.
High-resolution pictures entered may be included next year in the civic calendar, on hydro utility boxes and street banners or at city facilities.
Here is the submission criteria:
- jpeg or tiff format
- horizontal orientation (for calendar)
- at least 300 dpi
- 13” wide by 10” deep
- or a file size of at least two megabytes
- have a file label
- including the photo name, location, year taken and photographer’s name
Photo credit will be applied to all images used in the calendar and in other marketing materials, where possible.
