Lighting up your home in Port Coquitlam for the holidays might just earn you some extra money for Christmas shopping.
From Dec. 1 to 12, the city is offering a daily prize of a $75 gift card from any licensed Port Coquitlam business to residents who submit a night-time photo of their decorated home.
The winners of the 12 daily random draws will also receive a matching $75 gift card from a downtown merchant courtesy of the Port Coquitlam Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA).
A similar promotion last year attracted more than 120 entrants, according to a news release from the city.
The contest is for Port Coquitlam residents only and each address can submit one entry over the course of the 12-day contest period.
Photos can be uploaded to a special website, shared on social media with the hashtag #WinterInPoCo and #WinterInTheCity or by tagging the city on Twitter or Instagram (@CityofPoCo) or on Facebook (@portcoquitlam).
