The customers of two Tri-City companies helped to raise cash this summer and fall for the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation.
Last month, Tinhouse Brewing gave $4,500 to the philanthropic group — money it collected through its second annual 5K run/walk series.
And COBS Bread at Oxford Market offered $605 to the organization through its annual back-to-school High Fibre White Loaf promotion.
The PoCo Foundation has distributed more than $2 million in grants and bursaries to local groups and residents over the past dozen years.
“Community foundations allow citizens to give back to their local communities in a way that builds a sustainable source of funding,” said Anna Wilczewski, PoCo Foundation’s executive director, in a news release.
