A company that builds homes in Coquitlam and donates to community groups is up for three business excellence awards from the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.
Last week, the association that advocates for more than 1,300 firms based in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra announced that Noura Homes had clinched nominations in three categories:
- Business of the Year (11–29 employees)
- Business Leader of the Year (Jamileh Askarian)
- Green Business of the Year
Cassandra Curtis of Cassandra Cake Co. in Port Coquitlam is also finalist in the Business of the Year (11–29 employees), as well as for Young Professional of the Year.
And two Port Coquitlam city councillors are in the running for their businesses: Coun. Paige Petriw, founder of Spotlight Events; and Coun. Dean Washington, president of GRiP Tire & Auto.
The winners of the 2024 Business Excellence Awards will be named at a gala at The Show Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, in Coquitlam, on April 27, 2024.
"Our Chamber takes great pride in bringing together business and community leaders for a premier gala to celebrate outstanding organizations and individuals that demonstrate excellence in business and a passion for the community," said Chamber CEO Leslie Courchesne, in a news release.
"Congratulations to all nominees, and my sincere thanks to everyone who put forward a nomination for the awards. We have so many deserving recipients in our communities."
