Coquitlam hit with another snowfall warning

Significant snow accumulation will be followed by sub-zero temperatures and wind chill that will make it feel like -16 C

Environment Canada is warning of another chilly low pressure system set to dump more snow across the Lower Mainland Saturday evening.

Higher elevations in Coquitlam and the North Shore are expected to see up to 15 centimetres of snow accumulation by Sunday afternoon.

Lower elevations, including most of the Tri-Cities, will likely see a mix of snow and rain. The chances of snow accumulation will depend on how close you are to the water, your elevation, as well as intensity and direction of the wind. Expect between five and 10 centimetres of accumulation at lower elevations across Metro Vancouver.

Environment Canada warns that rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Moving into next week, clear skies on Monday and Tuesday will be accompanied by a significant drop in temperature, with wind chill making it feel as low as -16 C on Tuesday.

Snow is expected to return midweek and continue into the weekend.
