Tell us it's the holiday season without telling us it's the holiday season.
Metro Vancouver residents will soon bear witness to a giant red semi-truck covered in twinkling lights roaming through the region that's as iconic as the figure sipping a soda on the side.
Coca-Cola's 2024 Holiday Caravan is making stops in Burnaby and Coquitlam as part of its trip around the Lower Mainland starting this month.
This includes:
Burnaby
- Wednesday, Nov. 27
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- BCIT Burnaby campus (3700 Willingdon Ave.)
Coquitlam
- Thursday, Dec. 19
- 5 to 10 p.m.
- Lights at Lafarge (Trevor Wingrove Way)
This year, the tour is in partnership with the Canada's Kindest Community Contest, according to a news release.
The campaign, a partnership between Coca-Cola and Community Foundations of Canada, encourages residents to share stories of kindness for a chance to win a $50,000 donation for a local nonprofit.
"The Holiday Caravan was born from an opportunity to spread optimism and share joy in communities coast-to-coast," added Todd Parsons, CEO of Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Limited.
"By uniting the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan and Canada's Kindest Community Contest, we connect the joy of the holiday season with making a meaningful difference in the communities where we operate. We believe kindness is contagious, and every kind act, no matter its size, has the potential to make an impact."
The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan's cross-country tour ends in Vancouver at the PNE on Dec. 21.
