Gregory Edge may soon be living up to his surname as he plans to fly his family to New York City for the holidays later this year.
How so, you may ask?
The Port Coquitlam resident's dream will soon reality thanks to a recent $100,000 jackpot victory off a scratch-and-win ticket.
"My daughter was beside me and I was in such shock that I had her read out the amount and then my wife screamed," Edge said in a BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) release in recalling the surprising win while at home.
Christmas in the Big Apple is definitely cool, but Edge added he also plans on invest part of his prize for some longer-term goals.
"I would build my dream home in the Okanagan, travel and spend my time volunteering," he explained.
Edge became $100,000 richer off a Boom Multiplier ticket, which is the big jackpot in the scratch game.
According to BCLC, players have odds of one in 800,000 of winning those six figures — the same as winning the secondary prize of $10,000.
He bought his ticket in the Town Pantry convenience store at the Chevron near the intersection of Kingsway Avenue and the Mary Hill Bypass (7B).
