A funeral service for Betty Fox, mother of Canadian icon Terry Fox, is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Port Coquitlam's Trinity United Church at 2211 Prairie Avenue.
The service will be open to the public but anyone wanting to attend is asked to write to [email protected] to request a spot as church seating will be extremely limited.
In a release from the Terry Fox Foundation Wednesday, a spokesperson for the foundation said that a second site may be required to host guests depending on how much interest they receive from the public.
Fox died from complications with diabetes and arthritis on Friday, June 17.
The Fox family called Port Coquitlam home from 1968 to 1990, after which they moved to Abbotsford and later Chilliwack.
Betty is survived by husband Rolly, three children Fred, Darrell, and Judith, their respective spouses Theresa, Bonnie and Dale, nine grandchildren, Terrance, Kirsten, Erin, Jessica, Sarah, DJ, Tianna, Alexandra, and Connor, brother John Wark and sister-in-law Anna.
