Until Dec. 31, the Tri-City News looks back on some of our favourite photos from 2024.
Each day, we are posting one image along with commentary about what it took to get that photo and the story it conveys.
The thrill of victory is never so sweet, the agony of defeat never so sour as at the annual School District 43 track and field championships.
Held over the course of several days, the event is the payoff for weeks of hard work learning and training new athletic endeavours like leaping over the high jump bar or passing the baton in a relay race.
But as much as the meet is a test for the kids, it’s also a chance for proud parents to cheer their charges and encourage their newfound passions.
