More sidewalks, streetlights and new utility pipes will be installed along Port Coquitlam roads next year under the city’s $52.7-million capital plan that is set to be approved next Tuesday.

The two-year capital plan — as recommended this week by committee of council — also calls for changes to Coast Meridian Road; Prairie, Kingsway and Langan avenues; and Shaughnessy Street.

As well, the committee earmarked an additional $716,400 in the 2020 capital plan for a SkyTrain feasibility study, a policing services review and a Master Transportation Plan renewal.

And it set aside $494,400 for a climate change adaptation strategy, to begin planning in 2021.

Meanwhile, the public will get a chance to comment on the draft operational budget in February.
