Ten residents living and/or working in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam were recognized Sunday, Aug. 11, as Community Champions.
Ron McKinnon, the MP for Coquitlam–Port Coquitlam (Liberal), recently accepted nominations for his annual awards that were handed out at a picnic at Lions Park in Port Coquitlam.

In a social media post, Wagner thanked the MP for his recognition.
“I am so honoured and humbled to be awarded with a Community Champion award from our local MP, @ronmckinnonlib for my contribution to our community as the president of Port Coquitlam Minor Hockey,” she wrote.
“Giving my time is easy if it means helping local kids love hockey as much as I do! And I’m just a tiny part of our association — the countless hours of our coaches, managers, volunteers and executive are the real lifeblood of PCMHA.”
