The signs are up and the stage is set for tonight’s (Aug. 18) kick off of the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival this weekend.
Coquitlam's Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way) is the place to be Friday night for the city's free activities and concerts, including from:
- The Zolas, 6 p.m.
- A Juno-nominated indie rock band based out of Vancouver known for the songs "You're Too Cool," "Knot in My Heart" and "Strange Girl"
- Current Swell, 8 p.m.
- A "surf rock" group out of Victoria that's released seven albums. In 2011, it won first place in the Peak Performance Project
Food trucks from Fijian Fusion Catering, Gary's Kettle Corn, Kampong and Shameless Buns will be on site.
To get to Town Centre Park, hop on SkyTrain and take the Millennium Line to the Lafarge Lake–Douglas station. The festival grounds are a 10-minute walk to the eastern side of Lafarge Lake.
