LIVE MUSIC
The band Bang! covers the best of the 1970s, 80s and 90s — as well as contemporary songs — on the Asylum Sound Stage at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver (2080 United Blvd., Coquitlam). The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and there is no admission charge. The Stage Pilots performs at the Asylum on Aug. 19.

Connect with local sporting groups — and try out a new sport — at the annual Coquitlam Sports Fair, on from 1 to 3 p.m. at North Field #6 at Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). Organizations such as the Adanacs Field Lacrosse, Bamboo Martial Arts and Fitness and the Coquitlam Minor Softball Association will be on site to provide information about how to sign up for the fall. CAR CRUISE
Put your lawn chair on the curb to watch the parade of classic, vintage and muscle cars through the City of Port Coquitlam to kick off the annual Downtown Port Coquitlam Car Show on Sunday. The evening cruise will see about 100 vehicles in the car display leaving the downtown at 6 p.m. and travelling the southern and northern routes of the city for 90 minutes. POCO CAR SHOW
Hundreds of buffed up classic and custom vehicles from around the Pacific Northwest will be parked in downtown Port Coquitlam for the annual car show. Presented by Metro Ford Motors, the day-long event that attracts more than 20,000 visitors will also include a free model car workshop, kids activities and food.
