Pieces by Beethoven, Bridge, Debussy, Mendelssohn and Prokofiev will be performed at a free recital at Place des Arts on Sunday.
The classical compositions will be played by the centre’s new Piano Chamber Music Ensemble, a group of music students under the direction of Barry Tan.
Pianists John Ahn and Audra Rantawan will be joined by cellist Paul Joo and violinists Chelsea Yang and Aidan Yu for the final concert of their inaugural season; the event begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Maillardville arts hub (1120 Brunette Ave.).
Earlier this month, Yu, Joo and Ahn won a cash prize for their performance in the Friends of Chamber Music Competition, held at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
Meanwhile, another Tan student, Jeffery Guo, will be in California this summer to study with top-notch instructors and other international music students at the Montecito International Music Festival.
Guo received a scholarship for the 2.5-week intensive at La Sierra University.
